COMMUNICATIVE VERSION OF THE THEORY OF SOCIAL AGREEMENT DURING THE TRANSITION TO THE INFORMATION SOCIETY: J. HABERMAS

Abstract

The task of the article is to prove that the problem of searching of the new axiological paradigm as an adequate response to the needs of the new information society, received special, but still little explored development of the understanding of Habermas’ heritage. The special attention of the author is attracted by the desire of the German philosopher to solve urgent social problems by using the notion of communication, where he joined the reasonableness, ethics and freedom. In today’s information society Habermas’ idea of communication is fundamentally important as a significant basis of our moral unity with others, not only close but also distant people. The communicative project of Habermas’ social agreement is coherently reconstructed where the real depends on a voluntary, rational, resisting to manipulation and external compulsion, the approval of this or that statement. In Habermas’ theory of communicative agreement the discourse does not break, but constructs social relationships, taking into account the interests of each participant.
