THE PROBLEM OF THE TIME IN THE COMPUTER GAMESVIRTUAL NARRATIVE

Abstract

From the ancient times people tried to understand the essence of the events, tried learn the history of that or another object, tried to explain and to understand the historical process. The history is one of the main categories of actual reality. Every object that exists in our world and which is a direct component has its own history, its own «story», without knowledge of which, it would be abstract and incomplete. Each «story» is the ultimate goal of the history, and the beginning of its examination by the philosophical consciousness. The history, as its acting through the time, can be analyzed as a narrative, as one of the ways to construct possible worlds. Such worlds are the computer games which are a complex and contradictory phenomenon. Narrative worlds of computer games, on one hand, are part of our world, and on the other, contain its own world, its own game reality. The history of the virtual worlds is extremely difficult to study, because it often overlaps with the history of the world. Thus, this article aims to show how the history of the current reality and the virtual worlds of computer games are interacting.
